For over 17 years, David Gomes has battled resolutely to defend his clients and protect the rights of all Canadians. Whether at the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court, the Court of Appeal or the Supreme Court of Canada, David has fearlessly advocated on behalf of those who have sought his counsel.

Very experienced in the criminal courts, David has since 2003 focused his practice on drinking and driving law, a highly technical and extremely challenging sub-area of criminal law. Drinking and driving cases now comprise over 80 percent of his practice.

Highly skilled in oral and written advocacy, David has conducted hundreds of trials and Constitutional applications and argued numerous appeals. Possessed of a hungry mind, he has spent many thousands of hours engaged in legal research and analysis since his call to the Bar in 1995. Always prepared for trial, David combines deft cross-examination with outside the box thinking to methodically dismantle his opponent's case.

While no lawyer can or should guarantee a successful result in a given case, David does guarantee that each case will be thoroughly analyzed to identify its unique strengths and weaknesses, a strategy specific to the case will be developed, he will arrive at trial fully prepared and will conduct the defence with intelligence, energy and professionalism.

In his spare time, David coaches house league hockey. He hopes to make his fourth consecutive appearance in the finals this year.
