I'm fairly new to real estate, and I can't say that I've lived here all my life. Now that we've gotten that out of the way, let me tell you how I wound up living in the Midland area and selling real estate.
I'm a refugee from Toronto. My family has deep roots in this area and I've been visiting since I was born. One lovely summer weekend in August 2005 I attended a family reunion in Penetanguishene. It was quite the shindig, but what really stood out for me was how beautiful this area is. All that geographic diversity just 90 minutes north of the city. A simpler way of life, plenty of parking, sailing and golfing just 10 minutes from anywhere. I fell in love. Two days later, I put my house on the market. While friends and family had their doubts, I had none. Early in 2006 I moved into my new home, the one with two driveways - yes, two driveways, room for 10 (!) cars to park, - take that downtown TO - and a double garage (bliss).
Proximity to the city and the fact that as a freelance graphic designer and writer I could work from anywhere made it possible to relocate without compromising my livelihood. And so it went - work, golf, sail, make new friends, reconnect with family - it was all I had hoped it would be. But... one day a little ad appeared in the local paper. A real estate brokerage was looking for enthusiastic persons to join their office as Sales Representatives. I cut out the ad, put it on the fridge and wondered whether the time was right to indulge my not-so-secret passion.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained, say I, so I made the appointment and made my pitch and to my delight and horror I was invited to take the plunge. And so, here I am, doing the job I love, in a great community, offering you all my enthusiasm, professionalism and creativity to help you achieve your own real estate dream.
